NLA Conference 2020: Kano State Governor, Dr Abdulahi Umar Ganduje gives His Support

The Executive of the Nigerian Library Association (NLA) met with the Executive Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdulahi Umar yesterday, 19th of February,  2020, as part of the preparatory activities towards the 2020 Annual National Conference which is slated to hold in Kano State.

The high-powered delegation was led by the President of the Association, Prof.  Innocent I. Ekoja, and the meeting also had in attendance members of the Governor’s cabinet.

Prof. Ekoja, in his speech, informed the Governor of the National conference taking place in the State in July of 2020, and how the Association will need the State’s cooperation and support as the host.

The Governor in his response appreciated the Association for choosing  Kano State for this year’s conference and promised to give the Association every necessary support to make Kano 2020 successful.

In the President’s entourage was: Dr. Ibrahim Buchi (The Executive Secretary,  Kano State Library Board), Omoh Aisenokhai (NLA National Secretary), Dr. Abdulkadir A.  Idris (NLA National Financial. Secretary), Dr. Ogochukwu T. Emiri (NLA National PRO), Prof. A. A Balarabe (NLA Editor-in-Chief), Danladi Bala (NLA Chairman, Kano State Chapter), and all members of the State Executive.

The meeting came to an end with special presentations of gifts to the governor by the President and the State Chapter respectively.

The presentations were in appreciation of the massive investment the governor has made towards Libraries and Education at large in Kano State.
