Membership

Individual members of the Association now numbering about 5,900 drawn from various types of libraries, would usually belong, in the first instance, to one of the 37 States/FCT chapters or/and one or more of the 14 special interest groups.

Standard Membership

Membership is open to anyone who has a post-secondary education degree in archives, information, library and knowledge management studies, and/or works in the information, knowledge and library sector.

Student Membership

Membership is open to anyone who is fully enrolled in an NUC approved tertiary institution. Such student must be studying a course which leads to the award of a degree in any of the fields listed in the standard membership above.

Post-career Membership

Membership is open to anyone who is retired from service, and holds a post-secondary education degree in any of the fields listed in the standard membership above, and/or worked in the information, knowledge and library sector.

How to Register

Interested persons must register with a state chapter by paying necessary membership levies and actively taking part in membership meetings. Visit your State Chapter’s registration page for details.
